The medial with a series of seven punches or dots from one side to just past the middle indicating that they were a tally of some sort

Low medial ridge, probably more prominent when new, now somewhat worn from use and burial. The surface with a meandering random pattern which appears to result form stress or heat treating. Made by the lost wax process, coil beads, rings, and other adornment elements were very popular in Viking culture. Due to its age, resizing is not advised.
